Abstract

The murder of Radhika Yadav by her father is an important case as it addresses many problematic issues that still afflict our sociocultural environment in India. The deeply entrenched patriarchal institutions continue to impact our social interactions and familial affairs in ways that ultimately lead to the degradation of human life. In this paper, this case is examined from multiple perspectives to understand the backdrop within which it has taken place. The important lessons that can be drawn from this particular case, from a policymaking and lawmaking point of view, are also of significant importance in this paper.
